MiFinity, a global payments provider, today announced that it has secured a license enabling it to issue UnionPay cards, support UnionPay Online Payments (UPOP), and facilitate cross-border remittance services through UnionPay MoneyExpress, marking an important step in expanding its global payment capabilities and enhancing its offering across international markets. Commenting on the announcement, Michael McDevitt, Chief Product Officer at MiFinity, noted that the integration with UnionPay’s extensive global network will enable greater payment flexibility and support continued growth. With widespread acceptance of UnionPay cards across global markets, this development positions MiFinity among a limited number of European payment service providers able to support this level of integration. The new capabilities include card issuance, enabling access to a widely accepted payment method; support for secure online transactions through UPOP with real-time authorisation; and efficient cross-border remittance functionality via MoneyExpress. The MiFinity eWallet will support these services, allowing users to manage payments, transfers, and balances through a single platform, reinforcing MiFinity’s position as a flexible, globally accessible digital payments provider. This milestone reflects MiFinity’s ongoing commitment to innovation and to expanding its global payments ecosystem, supported by its highly secure, regulated technology platform and growing international partner network. MiFinity UK Limited is authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), while MiFinity Malta Limited is regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). UnionPay International, a subsidiary of China UnionPay, continues to support global payment acceptance through its extensive network, enabling secure and efficient cross-border payment services worldwide.
